He carried a duffel bag with everything he owned — two t-shirts, a photo of his daughter, and a winter coat that wasn't warm enough. For 14 months, home was a piece of cardboard and the sound of traffic overhead.
Then a case worker from The Lord’s Place learned his name. One emergency bed. One hot meal. One person who showed up the next day, and the day after that. Forty-seven days later, Marcus signed a lease.

Higher Learning Foundation presents Par for the Culture, benefiting The Lord’s Place. Together we are working to expand. Together we are working to expand immediate emergency shelter access in Palm Beach County. Proceeds from this event will support the Emergency Shelter & Respite Program — providing up to 30 emergency beds, housing-focused case management, peer support, and rapid pathways to stable housing for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Together, we are not just hosting an event — we are helping move people from the streets to stability.
